Same as Women's and Gender Studies 301 (Topic 21). Use of the sociological perspective to analyze how the structure of American society, individual life, and group life chances are shaped by broader structures of privilege and disadvantage based on gender, race, and class. Examination of these in institutional arenas such as work, the family, education, health, the criminal justice system, sexuality, popular culture, and more. Three lecture hours a week for one semester.
