English as a second language (ESL) courses are offered under the supervision of the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost and Texas Global. The courses are designed for international students who have a below-passing score on certain assessment tests.

English as a second language courses may not be counted toward any degree, but are included in determining if a student’s course load satisfies requirements for issues such as immigration, employment, housing, and financial aid.
