Classical Languages

Major 

Twenty-four semester hours in the languages and cultures of one of the following areas of specialization: Classics, Greek, or Latin. 

  1. Classics 
    1. Six hours of upper-division Greek 
    2. Six hours of upper-division Latin 
    3. Classical Civilization 375, Greek 365 , or Latin 365
    4. Nine additional hours of Greek, Latin, or classical civilization, including at least three upper-division hours
  2. Greek 
    1. Twelve hours of upper-division Greek, including Greek 365 
    2. Twelve hours of Latin and/or classical civilization, including at least nine in upper-division coursework
  3. Latin 
    1. Fifteen hours of upper-division Latin, including Latin 324 and Latin 365
    2. Nine hours of Greek and/or classical civilization, including at least six in upper-division coursework 

Minor for Classical Languages Majors

Either (1) twelve semester hours, including at least six hours of upper-division coursework, in an approved area, or (2) nine semester hours, including at least three hours of upper-division coursework beyond 507, 601C, and 610D in another foreign language.
