ART 302C ART 302C. Core Studio II: Line, Mark, and Observation. 3 Hours.

Restricted to art history, design, studio art, and visual art studies majors. Required core studio class with an emphasis on traditional and digital drawing. Focus on line, line weight, continuous line, contour line, sighting, figure, gesture, perspective (two point, three point, and isometric/orthogonal drawing), value, color, and texture. Collaborative and technology-based projects will allow students to envision and understand drawing in a contemporary context. If there are spaces available on the fourth class day in the spring or fall semester or the second class day in either summer session, non-departmental majors may register for undergraduate studio art classes. Prior experience in the subject is expected. Six laboratory hours a week for one semester.
