Investigate the various technologies that the United States has used to maintain imperial geographies at "home" and abroad. Focus on imperial entanglements of global capital, liberalism, and technological systems. Three lecture hours a week for one semester. Only one of the following may be counted: African and African Diaspora Studies 352N, American Studies 370 (Topic: Technologies of US Empire), 370 (Topic 72), Women's and Gender Studies 340 (Topic 85). Prerequisite: Upper-division standing.
