Review of the history and evolution of the construct of race as a psychological and social phenomenon. Multidisciplinary but primarily social-psychological approach: in addition to readings from psychology, ideas in the areas of anthropology, sociology, and biology will be discussed. Emphasis on theoretical and conceptual approaches toward understanding the psychology of racial thinking.
