Explore the Chinese language and culture, focusing on the cultural, social, historical, and political background against which the Chinese language has evolved and continues to evolve. Three lecture hours a week for one semester. Asian Studies 350E and 361 (Topic 32) may not both be coutned. Prerequisite: Upper-division standing.
