Restricted to biomedical engineering majors. Explore finite and infinite imagery; conjugate planes, back focal plan manipulation, Abbe theory image formation, point spread functions, camera principles, fluorescence, and advanced fluorescence techniques, and build an optical microscope. One and a half lecture hours and three laboratory hours a week for one semester. Only one of the following may be counted: Biomedical Engineering 374D, 377T (Topic: Biomd Eng Mcrscpy Fndtn Lab), 377T (Microscopy Fundamentals).
