Explore finite and infinite imagery; conjugate planes, back focal plan manipulation, Abbe theory image formation, point spread functions, camera principles, fluorescence, and advanced fluorescence techniques, and build an optical microscope. Only one of the following may be counted: Biomedical Engineering 374D, 377T (Topic: Biomd Eng Mcrscpy Fndtn Lab), 377T (Microscopy Fundamentals). One and a half lecture hours and three laboratory hours a week for one semester.
Pre/Corequisites: Biomedical Engineering 343 or Electrical and Computer Engineering 313 (or Electrical Engineering 313) with a grade of at least C-.
Restrictions: Restricted to biomedical engineering majors.
