Basic signal processing knowledge; introduction to wave propagation theory; nondestructive testing (NDT) principles and applications to steel structures; evaluation of concrete structures and foundations; NDT methods selection; emerging technologies. Civil Engineering 397N and 397 (Topic: Nondestructive Testing Techniques in Civil Engineering) may not both be counted. Three lecture hours a week for one semester.
