Examines representative examples of the texts found in the Christian New Testament and selected noncanonical writings. Focuses on historical setting and systematic methods of interpretation. Only one of the following may be counted: Classical Civilization 304C (Topic: Introduction to the New Testament), 304E, Core Texts and Ideas 305N, 310 (Topic: Introduction to the New Testament), Religious Studies 315N. Three lecture hours a week for one semester.
