ECE 313H ECE 313H. Linear Systems and Signals: Honors. 3 Hours.

Examine representation of signals and systems; system properties; sampling; Laplace and z-transforms; transfer functions and frequency response; convolution; stability; Fourier transform; feedback; and control applications. Explore computer analysis using MATLAB or Python. Three lecture hours a week for one semester. Only one of the following may be counted: Biomedical Engineering 343, Electrical and Computer Engineering 313, 313H, Electrical Engineering 313. Offered on the letter-grade basis only. Prerequisite: Electrical and Computer Engineering 302 (or Electrical Engineering 302), or Electrical and Computer Engineering 302H (or Electrical Engineering 302H) with a grade of at least B; Mathematics 427J or 427K with a grade of at least C-; and credit with a grade of at least C- or registration for Mathematics 340L.

Areas in which electrical and computer engineers contribute significantly are: communications, signal processing, networks and systems, electronics and integrated circuits, energy systems and renewable energy, fields, waves and electromagnetic systems, nanoelectronics and nanotechnology, computer architecture and embedded systems, and software engineering and design. Typical career paths of graduates include design, development, management, consulting, teaching, and research. Many graduates seek further education in law, medicine, business, or engineering.
