Examine the theory, principles, and practices for protecting medium-voltage industrial power systems and high-voltage transmission grids, including symmetrical components; fault calculations and grounding; protection of motors, generators, cables, and transmission lines; and relay settings, fusing, and coordination of multiple protection devices. Electrical and Computer Engineering 369L and Electrical Engineering 369L may not both be counted. Two lecture hours and three laboratory hours a week for one semester.
