Students are assigned to a mentor teacher classroom where they might continue as apprentice teachers the next semester. Students will be observing or teaching in the classroom at least 3 hours a week, in addition to the 6 contact hours per week. Students prepare, implement and analyze results of inquiry- and project-based lessons, focusing on student thinking and participation, and meeting the needs of students with reading and writing difficulties, those learning in a second language, and those with behavioral and psychological issues.
