Emphasis on basic skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing at the novice level of proficiency. Designed for students with no prior coursework in French. Only one of the following may be counted: French 601C, 604, 406, 506. For each semester hour of credit earned, one lecture hour a week for one semester.
