Introduction to history of mathematics and science through study of core texts from Greek and Roman antiquity. Approach science and mathematics as liberal arts; examine fundamental questions raised by scientific inquiry. Consider questions regarding the nature of scientific knowledge, mathematical truth, physical reality, and causality. Three lecture hours a week for one semester.
