Focus on questions concerning the relationship between freedom and community, history and reason, the self and society, and rational inquiry and revelation. Study sources of wisdom in authors such as Rousseau, Flaubert, Marx, Dostoevsky, Darwin, Nietzsche, and Heisenberg. Three lecture hours a week for one semester.
