The application of the isotope and trace element geochemistry of natural waters and sediments to studies of the hydrologic cycle. Stable, radiogenic, and cosmogenic isotopes are used as tracers of the evolution of groundwater, surface water, and ocean water. Three lecture hours a week for one semester, with additional laboratory hours to be arranged.
Pre/Corequisites: Chemistry 302, and Geological Sciences 416E, 416S, and 416W, and Mathematics 408D or 408M, and Physics 303K with a grade of at least C- in each.
Restrictions: Restricted to students in the Jackson School of Geosciences.
