Topic 2: Introduction to Graduate Linguistic Anthropology. Same as: ANT 392N Additional prerequisite: Graduate standing and consent of instructor.
Topic 3: Ethnography of Speaking. Same as: ANT 393.8 Additional prerequisite: Consent of instructor.
Topic 4: Turkic Cultures and Languages in Central Asia. Same as: MES 381.26 Additional prerequisite: Consent of instructor.
Topic 5: Language and Politics in Language Planning. Linguistics 396 (Topic 5) and Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures 395 (Topic 4: Language and Politics in Language Planning) may not both be counted. Additional prerequisite: Consent of instructor.
Topic 6: Arabic Language: Sociolinguistic Perspective. Additional prerequisite: Arabic 420L (or 320L).
Topic 7: Grammar of the Arabic Language. Same as: ARA 382C.2
