Topic 1: Design of Machines and Systems. Introduction to techniques for analyzing and designing machine components (linkages, cams, springs, gears, etc.) within the context of reverse engineering and redesigning existing products. Covers the application of structure methods for engineering design and prototyping. Mechanical Engineering 179M, 279M, 379M (Topic 1) and 379M (Topic: Design of Machines and Systems) may not both be counted. Restrictions: Restricted to students in the UTeach Engineering Program.
Topic 2: Wave Propagation.
Topic 3: Development of a Solar-Powered Vehicle. Analysis, design, and construction of a solar-powered car for national competitions involving other universities. Study of electrical, mechanical, and aerodynamic systems. Mechanical Engineering 379M (Topic: Devel of Solar-Powered Vehicle) and 179M, 279M, 379M (Topic 3) may not both be counted. Additional prerequisite: Mechanical Engineering 318M with a grade of at least C-.
Topic 4: Nuclear Fuel Management.
Topic 6: Kinematics of Mechanisms.
Topic 7: Technology Needs of Refugee Communities. Examine the refugee crisis with an emphasis on refugee flows into Greece. Mechanical Engineering 379M (Topic: Tech Needs Refugee Commun-Gre) and 379M (Topic 7) may not both be counted.
