Survey major mathematical developments beginning with the ancient Greeks and tracing those developments through Hindu-Indian mathematics, Arabic mathematics, and European mathematics up to the nineteenth century. Only one of the following may be counted: Core Texts and Ideas 371M, 375 (Topic: History of Mathematics), Mathematics 321M, 375T (Topic: History of Mathematics). Three lecture hours a week for one semester.
