Examine microplastics in coastal environments. Discuss plastics, including composition and production of plastic polymers and additives, as well as environmental processes that affect the fate of plastics in waters, such as biodegradation and photooxidation. Marine Science 355 and 353 (Topic: Microplastics in Coastal Environments) may not both be counted. Three lecture hours a week for one semester.
