Exploration of practices, beliefs, and issues through the study of various mass-mediated and commercial musical genres in the regions of Asia, the Middle East, Africa, the Pacific, Europe, and the Americas. Asian Studies 303N and Music 303N may not both be counted. Three lecture hours a week for one semester, with one laboratory hour a week as required.
