Explores subjects of health informatics that are specifically focused to healthcare professionals. Representative subjects include: key roles and responsibilities of health informaticians in American healthcare system; Informatics related theoretical foundations, research needs assessment and available information sources on EBP; Applications of health informatics by healthcare professionals (HCPs) in clinical settings; Implementation and evaluation of health informatics applications in clinical settings; Human-computer interaction (HCI), usability and ethical challenges and issues faced by HCPs; and new trends in health informatics technology to engage patients. Nursing 395 (Topic: Health Informatics) and 382W may not both be counted. Three lecture hours a week for one semester.
