Neuroanatomy and function of synapses as a basis for brain function and behavior. Examine the ultrastructure and function of synapses, dendrites and axons underlying basic synaptic transmission and plasticity. Laboratory projects involve three-dimensional reconstructions from serial section electron microscopy.
