Restricted to students studying abroad. Explore the historical and contemporary contexts of the British welfare state, social work practice, and institutional efforts to address social injustice. Examine British culture and how the United Kingdom and the United States address pressing social issues. Discuss the rights, responsibilities, and actions of global citizenship in an increasingly global society. For each semester hour of credit earned, one lecture hours a week for one semester. Social Work 460K (Topic: Roots of Social Economics Justice) and 467M may not be counted. Offered on the letter-grade basis only. Prerequisite: Consent of instructor.
