Intensive seminar exploring data sources and conceptual and measurement issues surrounding the study of racial and ethnic differences in crime and punishment, with a particular focus on how the distinct neighborhood and school contexts in which different racial and ethnic groups participate explain variations in criminal outcomes. Special emphasis on the role of the criminal justice system in producing and eliminating disparities in criminal justice outcomes.
