History of Asia, Egypt, and the Mediterranean world from Alexander's expedition to Asia to Rome's defeat of the last of the Hellenistic monarchs at Actium (ca. 334 to 31 BC). Two lecture hours and one discussion hour a week for one semester. Only one of the following may be counted: Ancient History and Classical Civilization 325 (Topic 5), 325 (Topic 6), Classical Civilizations 351D, 354D, History 351D, 354D. Prerequisite: Upper-division standing.
