The Curriculum and Instruction: Secondary English Urban Teaching Practicum stackable graduate certificate is designed primarily for postbaccalaureate students seeking teacher certification in secondary English, and who seek to develop and strength knowledge, dispositions, and skills for teaching in culturally and linguistically diverse contexts. Students complete a semester-long clinical teaching experience in Austin-area schools.

Licensure
This program partially fulfills requirements for the Urban Teachers English (UTE) graduate certificate program, which prepares students to teach English Language Arts in grades 7–12. Students who complete all requirements for the Urban Teachers English (UTE) graduate certificate program will earn a Texas Teaching Certificate.
