The Master of Arts with concentration in media studies emphasizes critical, cultural, and contextual approaches to the study of media objects, industries, and cultures. The MA degree program prepares students for doctoral study in media studies, or for advanced work in adjacent career fields. It is designed as a two-year program. Students complete a thesis on the academic track or a master's report, which may include applied research or a creative project, on the professional track.
