Designed to establish the academic foundations of an internship course in the liberal arts. Students integrate knowledge derived from their academic studies with the experiences gained in an internship setting. For each semester hour of credit earned, the equivalent of one lecture hour a week for one semester with additional hours to be arranged.

An interdisciplinary introduction to the fine arts: their basic concepts, meaning, aesthetics, and role in society. May not be counted toward a degree in the College of Fine Arts. Three lecture hours a week for one semester, with field trips as required.

Explore a broad range of historical and contemporary works, artifacts, and environments, and their implications for understanding imagery and objects in visual and material culture. Visual Art Studies 320 and Art Education 320 may not both be counted. Three lecture hours a week for one semester.

Develop strategies to engage with policy audiences outside of academic circles by practicing clear concise communication. Evaluate and practice various genres of policy communication with an emphasis on learning by doing. Three lecture hours a week for one semester.
