This program provides a unique and challenging interdisciplinary program of study for a limited number of students whose academic records indicate strong potential and motivation. This degree prepares students to understand and to contribute to the consequential work of national security and foreign affairs, especially preparing for careers in diplomacy, intelligence, and defense. The degree immerses students in the classical humanities tradition, including diplomatic and military history, great works of strategy, literature, theory, and intensive language study. It connects students with distinguished practitioners who have spent their lives in public service. The degree culminates in a two-part strategic analysis sequence and internship. The degree emphasizes the intellectual and professional skills required for leadership in both the public and private sector and for further graduate level study.
