Same as African and African Diaspora Studies 352O, Religious Studies 335D, and Women's and Gender Studies 335 (Topic 25). Explore the ways Africana religion practitioners disrupt and reframe dominant western discourses of gender and sexuality. Examine concepts of temporality, spirit manifestation, subjectivity, corporeality, and Africana religious epistemologies. Three lecture hours a week for one semester. Only one of the following may be counted: African and African Diaspora Studies 352O, American Studies 335, Religious Studies 335D, Women's and Gender Studies 335 (Topic 25). Prerequisite: Upper-division standing.
