Focus on how these works advanced global trends in avant-garde theory and practice by rebelling against tradition and searching for radically new ways of imagining the purpose and practice of modern art. Three lecture hours a week for one semester. Asian Studies 321E and 361 (Topic: Avant Garde Arts in Japan) may not both be counted. Prerequisite: Upper-division standing.
