ANT 348E ANT 348E. Environmental Epigenetics. 3 Hours.

Explore major subjects in anthropology, toxicology, and public health pertaining to the study of environmental exposures and disease/illness in the context of the current understanding of epigenetic processes. Analyze epigenetic mechanisms, gene transcription, the relationship between the environment and the epigenome, and epigenetics, health. Assess the main findings in the field and discuss their relevance to anthropology, public health, medicine, and in general. Three lecture hours a week for one semester. Anthropology 348E and 348K (Topic: Environmental Epigenetics) may not both be counted. Prerequisite: Upper-division standing.
