C E 392F C E 392F. Sensors and Signal Interpretation. 3 Hours.

Explore the physics concepts related with sensors, basic circuits, and wireless communications. Examine properties and specifications of sensors, and their importance in practical use cases. Discuss sensor noise properties and explore the use of signal processing in time and frequency domains to reduce noise. Explore data and model fusion using classical estimation methods (linear observers and Kalman filters). Three lecture hours a week for one semester. Civil Engineering 392F and 397 (Topic: Sensors/Signal Interpretation) may not both be counted. Prerequisite: Graduate standing.
