Investigate the meaning of life, exploring pre-modern perspectives, modern views including those of the nineteenth through twenty-first centuries, and contemporary problems such as whether AI poses new threats to meaning in life. Three lecture hours a week for one semester. Core Texts and Ideas 339M and Philosophy 365M may not both be counted. Prerequisite: Upper-division standing.
