NRP 395S NRP 395S. Healthcare Information Systems. 3 Hours.

Discuss interprofessional approaches to informatics by incorporating health specific disciplines (such as nursing and pharmacy), computer science, and information science. Examine resources and methods required to apply informatics and technology to implement clinical guidelines, support communication systems, and enhance safe health care delivery. Explore opportunities to analyze information requirements, design system alternatives, and consider the management of resources. Three lecture hours a week for one semester. Nursing 395S and Nurse Professional 395S may not both be counted. Offered on the letter-grade basis only. Prerequisite: Graduate standing; Nurse Professional 395G, 395O and 395Q or consent of instructor.
