SPB 301. Introduction to Sports Production and Broadcasting I.

Introduction to the foundational aspects of the sports broadcasting industry and the essential production skills required to be successful in the field. Three lecture hours a week for one semester. Communication 317 (Topic: Introduction to Sports Production and Broadcasting) and Sports Production and Broadcasting 301 may not both be counted.

SPB 302. Introduction to Sports Production and Broadcasting II.

Explore foundational aspects of sports broadcasting and production with an emphasis on editing. Three lecture hours a week for one semester. Prerequisite: Sports Production and Broadcasting 301 with a grade of at least C-.

SPB 119S, 219S, 319S, 419S, 519S, 619S, 719S, 819S, 919S. Topics in Sports Production and Broadcasting.

This course is used to record credit the student earns while enrolled at another institution in a program administered by the University's Texas Global Office. Credit is recorded as assigned by the study abroad advisor in Sports Production and Broadcasting. University credit is awarded for work in an exchange program; it may be counted as coursework taken in residence. Transfer credit is awarded for work in an affiliated studies program. For each semester hour of credit earned, the equivalent of one lecture hour a week for one semester. May be repeated for credit when the topics vary.

Explore contemporary issues and practices in sports production and broadcasting. For each semester hour of credit earned, the equivalent of one lecture hour a week for one semester. SPB 121, 221, 321. Independent Study.

Pursue special supervised individual research studies. For each semester hour of credit earned, the equivalent of one lecture hour a week for one semester. May be repeated for credit. Prerequisite: Consent of instructor.

SPB 322. Storytelling in Sports Production and Broadcasting.

Explore the art of storytelling in live and other forms of sports production. Three lecture hours a week for one semester. Prerequisite: Sports Production and Broadcasting 301 and 302, with a grade of at least C- in each.
