Master of Science in Engineering

The master’s degree requires a total of 30 hours of coursework, including a 3-hour Master’s Report. Students will be admitted into one of four potential tracks: (1) Semiconductor Manufacturing, (2) Circuits and Systems, (3) Heterogeneous Integration, and (4) Semiconductor Devices. All students in the MSE in Semiconductor Science and Engineering degree program will complete two laboratory courses. The exact laboratory courses will depend on the track the student is admitted to. All students are required to complete Semiconductor Science and Engineering 395. In addition, all students will complete three elective courses within their chosen track. These prescribed elective courses are currently offered through closely related disciplines in the Cockrell School of Engineering and the College of Natural Sciences. Finally, all students will conduct independent research and develop a Master’s Report (Semiconductor Science and Engineering 398R) under the supervision of a research advisor that is selected from the Semiconductor Science and Engineering Graduate Studies Committee (GSC).
