Explore the long history and cultural development of Maya peoples from Mexico and Central America, ranging from the earliest occupation of the Maya territory to the present. Explore several fields of the Maya population, including sociopolitical organization, technology, economy, religion, spirituality, genocides, cultural revitalization, and artistic expressions. Three lecture hours a week for one semester. Anthropology 324L (Topic: Maya Studs Past Present Future) and 361L may not both be counted. Prerequisite: Upper-division standing.
