Formal and cultural history of gardens, parks, and public landscapes from 1700 to about 1990. Includes comparative material from the contemporary period, 1980 to 2010. Three lecture hours a week for one semester. Only one of the following may be counted: Landscape Architecture 342L; Architecture 342F or 368R (Topic: History and Theories of Landscape Architecture II). Prerequisite: Upper-division standing; for students in the School of Architecture, Architecture 318L with a grade of at least C; for others, consent of instructor.
