Study of genres, literary forms, the relationships of literature and other disciplines from a comparative point of view; topics include comedy, sensibility, and the East and the West. Three lecture hours a week for one semester. May be repeated for credit when the topics vary. Prerequisite: Graduate standing and consent of the graduate adviser.
