Explores the role media plays in documenting and shaping the successes and failures of contemporary causes. Considers how these movements use social media to their advantage and the responses from government and other institutions. Communication Studies 340M and Communication Studies 367 (Topic: Social Media/Social Movement: Then/Now) may not both be counted. Three lecture hours a week for one semester.
