GEO 349C GEO 349C. Introduction to the Cryosphere. 3 Hours.

Restricted to students in a geosciences major and students pursuing a minor in geosciences. Explore how the cryosphere (ice sheets, glaciers, snow, and ice) interacts within the Earth system. Focus on ice physics, the geologic record of glaciation and glacial landscapes, and the relationship between glaciers and climate in the past, present, and future. Three lecture hours a week for one semester. Offered on the letter-grade basis only. Prerequisite: Upper-division standing; Geological Sciences 416W or consent of instructor.
