Survey of the field of marine geology by exploring the structure and evolution of the ocean basins, oceanic islands, and island arcs, the chemistry of the oceans, the sediments in the marine environments, the products and processes of the land-air-sea interface, and the history of the oceans over geologic time. Geological Sciences 381J and Geological Sciences 391 (Topic: Marine Geology) may not both be counted. Three lecture hours a week for one semester.
