Numerical methods for solution of partial differential equations arising in continuum geophysics and geodynamics. Focuses on finite element methods and their application to heat conduction, viscous flow, wave propagation, and transport problems in geophysics. Geological Sciences 384F and 391 (Topic: Computational Methods for Geophysics) may not both be counted. Four lecture hours a week for one semester.
