KIN 349 KIN 349. History of Sport and Physical Activity. 3 Hours.

Restricted to students in the Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Health with a major in physical culture and sports or sport management. Significant developments in sport and physical activity since prehistoric time; emphasis on events influencing contemporary American programs and the International Olympic Games. Three lecture hours a week for one semester. Prerequisite: Upper-division standing.

The curriculum for the degree has four components: (a) the University-wide Core Curriculum; (b) prescribed work for the Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Health; (c) major requirements, which include a minor or specialization (coaching, community health and wellness, disability studies, health fitness instructor, medical fitness and rehabilitation, or strength and conditioning coaching); and (d) electives.
