Restricted to Plan I majors in the College of Liberal Arts. Examine subjects that polarized Americans in the late 1960s, such as counterculture, the Vietnam War, youth protests, racism in the South, and the Black Power/Black Arts Movement. Explore the culture and social milieu of the late 1960s through the prism of American literature, film, and popular music of the era. Three lecture hours a week for one semester. Liberal Arts Honors 343V and 350 (Topic: Amer Lit/Cult of Late 1960s) may not both be counted. Prerequisite: Upper-division standing and a grade point average of at least 3.50.
