Restricted to geosystems engineering and hydrogeology and petroleum engineering majors. Basics of phase behavior, classical thermodynamics in terms of material and energy balances, and applications to changes of state of petroleum fluids. Three lecture hours a week for one semester. Offered on the letter-grade basis only. Prerequisite: The following with a grade of at least C-: Chemistry 302, Physics 303K, Physics 103M, and Mathematics 408D or 408M.
